Time to buckle up for an unforgettable murder mystery!
“Now. The Wedding Night.” There’s been a murder. We don’t know who. We don’t know how. We don’t know why.
Television’s golden boy, Will, and magazine creator, Jules, seem like the perfect couple. They’ve got the looks, the money, and the fame. Their upcoming wedding is being held on a remote island off the coast of Ireland, a tribute to Jules’ heritage. As elite as the destination may seem, the island has a reputation so creepy it has made even it’s own residents flee to the mainland.
Throughout the book, we follow along through the perspective of six characters. The bride, the groom, the wedding planner, the best man, the bridesmaid, and the plus one. With ever-weaving connections coming to light, the past can’t stay hidden for long. As tensions are rising among them, the wedding night is thrown into chaos as a storm barrels into the island causing a blow to the power.
Even with the wind howling, a sound rattles through the marquee that is unmistakably the scream of death. The guests are shaken up, and a few of the bravest take on the duty of searching the island to solve this harrowing mystery.
How did this seemingly picture perfect wedding go so horribly wrong? Who is the murderer, and who is the victim?
I won’t lie to you, sometimes it takes me a minute to get into a mystery. But this book? You guys… I was hooked from the first paragraph! Foley immediately catches our attention at the “present time” as the island loses power and the guests hear screams of terror. We then travel backward to the day prior, and their stories begin to unravel.
Listening to this on audible was such a captivating way to venture through this book. Since we follow the perspective of six people, their stories are all told through different voices and accents. This not only sets a tone for the characters, but also helps us easily keep track of who is who throughout the entire novel. It was fun hearing accents from all over the UK and Ireland.
I’m usually pretty good at guessing the ending of books like these, but I can say this for absolute certain: I did not expect this outcome whatsoever. I was in complete shock, and it made me fall in love with the book even more!
Buy. This. Book.
