Synopsis:

Littleport, Maine- a coastal town with local, year-round residents as well as wealthy summer vacationers. Avery Greer- local- forms an unlikely friendship with Sadie Loman, daughter of the wealthy Bianca and Grant Loman, after her parents’ death. The Loman’s own a property monopoly across Littleport, and when Avery’s grandmother dies, they take her in as their own, and Avery begins managing their properties. 

Sadie and Avery’s friendship spans a decade, until one night, Sadie is found dead during their annual end-of-season party. Her tragic death is ruled a suicide, but, a year later, Avery begins uncovering clues that heavily indicate foul play.

Review: 

Last year, I started this book when it was a Reese’s Book Club pick and didn’t get very far. I decided to try it again, and I’m glad I did! The story is excellent; it just gets confusing how often the author flips between the many different timelines. The chapter will say a certain year, but even within the chapter, we still flip through many different times. 

That being said, I enjoyed the character development throughout the book! Going back many years helps to understand the “suspects” and their relationships with each other at a deeper level. 

I really enjoyed the book and read it pretty fast. I kept wanting to read more and more to find out what happened! I kind of guessed the ending, but not the full depth of it!
