Workaholic Haley Hanson has spent her entire adult life putting work before all else and climbing the ladder at an advertising agency in Boston. Even Christmas takes a back seat in Haley’s life as she spends her Christmases in the Caribbean every year, mostly working. A big promotion to partner is finally in sight- if only she could land the account for Tyler Toys! Though the account is most likely going to her coworker who oozes Christmas spirit inside and out, her boss agrees to hear out her proposal- on one condition. Haley must attend a week-long Christmas Camp for a full holiday attitude adjustment!
Attending Christmas Camp at the Holly Peak Inn is not Haley’s idea of a good time, but she’d do just about anything to get this promotion. Haley is determined to stay focused all week. Even when she meets the Inn owner’s handsome son, Jeff, and feels a spark, she pushes her feelings aside.
Over the course of the week, Haley must find it within herself to slow down, live in the moment, and open her heart to others to be able to truly find her Christmas spirit. Luckily, the friendships she forms at camp help her along the way!
Can Haley find the true meaning of Christmas and possible love, or will she continue to put work first?
This book was a perfect escape to all things Christmas! From a snowy New England setting to a week full of Christmas activities and a love story (with plenty of cheese,) what more could you want?! This was the perfect read to kick off the holiday season. There was Christmas tree decorating, sugar cookie baking, sledding, shopping, and plenty of giving back to those in need. All the characters in this book are wonderful and really made me thankful for all the friendships in my life.
As I began reading this, I kept thinking, “this is exactly like reading a Hallmark or Netflix Christmas movie,” only to find out it IS a Hallmark movie! Karen Schaler also is the screenwriter for the hit Netflix movie “A Christmas Prince!” (A favorite of mine!)
This is a perfect choice for anyone ready to ring in the holiday season! I adore this classic Christmas pick.
Oh, & please sign me up for a Christmas Camp ASAP!!
